When running your own Wifi AP/router, you can try to decrease the
frequency of the beacons it sends.
Using OpenWRT, by default the beacon rate is about 100msec - it
generates 10 interrupt per sec. I have decreased it to 500msec, and
the network is running without errors, only about 2 interrupts per
second without network activity.
