If anyone's holding out for a greater gain to risk ratio before trying 
a patch from me, I've also written a fix for knode, the KDE 
newsreader.  Since the unmodified knode runs a select() loop with a 
millisecond timeout, it rather defeats the point of running a tickless 
kernel ;-).
