powertop + /proc/timer_list?

the PIT has a maximum time it can wait of about 26ms or so, which 
means you will wake up 37 times per second just for "nothing". If you 
enable HPET this will be much longer..

I don't know much on the topic. I confugured NO_HZ, shouldn't this mean that the timer interrupt will not come if the system is in idle? The PIT is the same as the timer used for the scheduling?

How can I verify if HPET is really used or not?
