I had the same problem with acpi interrupts, and for me gkrellm was the
culprit (as it was constantly checking the batterys state).
Make sure you don't have anything running that could be keeping acpid busy
all the time.

Try to put
Options "NoDRI"
in the device section of your xorg.conf.
