PowerTOP not showing detailed C-state information

Hello everyone,

I tried out PowerTOP today and in short: It works great, but it *might*
not display the C-state information table even if you have a Mobile CPU.

While running PowerTOP I generated some heavy IO-load and PowerTOP
suddenly said:
< Detailed C-state information is only available on Mobile CPUs
(laptops) >

The message only remained for 5 seconds but as I own a Pentium M(Sonoma)
the C-state table should be shown.

I did some research and found out that if the table
in /proc/acpi/processor/*/power stays the same for more than 5 seconds
the CPU is considered to be a non-Mobile CPU.

So my real question is: Wouldn't it be more appropriate to
check /sys/modules/processor/paramaters/max_cstate > 1 to determine
wheather it's a Mobile CPU or not?

Cheers,
Friedrich
