I have:
CONFIG_NO_HZ=y
CONFIG_HIGH_RES_TIMERS=y
CONFIG_HPET_TIMER=y
CONFIG_HPET_EMULATE_RTC=y
CONFIG_HPET=y
# CONFIG_HPET_RTC_IRQ is not set
CONFIG_HPET_MMAP=y
# CONFIG_IRQBALANCE is not set

and ondemand cpufreq governor. Still >60% of wakeups are caused by
'extra timer interrupt'. This is Turion64 X2 running in x86 mode on
2.6.21-gentoo.
